PLAINS DISTRICT MEMORIAL MUSEUM
Fall/ Christmas bazaar and yard sale at this time.
The ongoing Covid 19 pandemic makes it unsafe for such non-essential gatherings so we must postpone the holiday sale till next year.
We are willing to offer one-on-one shopping to those who need items we already have available

Bluegrass Jam
OPEN CIRCLE BLUEGRASS AT THE MUSEUM
The Plains District Memorial Museum will be hosting an Open Circle Bluegrass Jam on
Sunday afternoons from 1:30-4:00 pm. Come and be part of a Valley tradition of music
making where musicians gather to share and learn music together. All levels of players
are welcome. Bring an acoustic instrument and join the circle OR just come to listen.
For Bluegrass enthusiasts, the Open Circle Bluegrass Jam is complementary to the
Spike Jam Sessions held each Friday evening, 7-9 pm. The Spike Jam (organized by
Vallie Mae Stroop at the Chimney Rock VFW) is performance oriented and designed to
entertain large community audiences as a great way to kick off each weekend. The
Sunday Open Circle Jam is smaller with musicians taking turns to perform in the music
circle.
In addition to the music, the Museum’s” very own” David Wood will frequently present
dramatic readings of historical documents , Civil War letters, etc. while local performers
will be invited to speak on the history of Bluegrass music in our area.
Listeners are WELCOME. We hope everyone will find this to be a relaxing and
“repeatable” way to close out a weekend.

The Museum will be open for exploration during the Jam session, so you can have twice
the fun on Sundays!!!
